I’m Dr. Kim MacEachern (she/her), a clinical psychologist who specializes in helping adults better understand their neurodivergence. You can call me Kim. I offer thoughtful, affirming assessments for people exploring autism, ADHD, and related neurotypes, especially when the path to understanding has felt confusing, overlooked, or incomplete. I often work with adults who are late-diagnosed, questioning whether past diagnoses fully fit, or trying to make sense of experiences that were misunderstood earlier in life. My evaluations are designed to create space for the full person—not just a checklist of symptoms—by considering identity, history, culture, relationships, and the environments someone has had to navigate. My specialty includes the intersectional dynamics that can shape how neurodivergence shows up and how it may have been missed, including gender presentation, race and culture, masking, late recognition, and complex histories of misdiagnosis. My approach is collaborative, respectful, and grounded in the belief that each person’s story deserves to be understood in context. My goal in assessment is not only to clarify neurotype or provide a diagnosis when appropriate, but also to help you leave with language, insight, and practical next steps. Outcomes may include informed resources, referrals, accommodations, and tailored support plans that reflect your strengths, needs, and real-world life. A small portion of my practice also includes talk therapy for complex trauma. In that work, I move at a pace that feels manageable, with attention to safety, choice, and steadiness, so clients can make sense of what they have lived through and begin building a more grounded sense of connection and self-trust.
